Abstract
The study examined the socio - economic impacts in Mkamandume ruins to Pujini residences. The main instruments used in data collection were structured questionnaires administered to households and Focus Group discussions that were used to collect data from seven villages in Pujini. These villages include Kibaridi, Dodo, Tondooni, Kijili, Kumvini ,Mkamandume and Mtimbu respectively. The study also made direct observation to record important information related to the study. The study results showed that population around Mkamandume historical sites(ruins) have little knowledge in relation to historical sites, indeed they are less contributed in preserving the sites, the coordination team between the government and the community is less functioning and hence results the distortion of Mkamandume historical sites. While some people graze in different areas, others establish plots of farming. The findings also revealed that as population increases also socio economic activities are increasing in the areas as result land disputes and conflicts occurred within the community. In this regard therefore, the need to make comprehensive measures to preserve the sites is really obligatory for the betterment of community and nation at large.
